    Farooq Malik

    Chairman – Interwood Mobel

    Mr. Malik completed his Masters in Economics from Punjab University in 1966. He went on to serve in the Internal Revenue division at the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) as Commissioner, Regional Commissioner, Member IT FBR, DG Training and retired in Grade 22 as a Federal Secretary after 36 years.

    Today, Mr. Malik is the Founder and Chairman of Interwood Mobel – Pakistan’s largest and most trusted furniture brand. Established in 1974 as a humble carpentry shop in Lahore producing hand-made TV cabinets for clients such as Sony and NEC, Interwood today produces ready-made and customized home & office furniture, kitchens, doors, wardrobes and more for countless homes, industries and institutions in Pakistan and abroad. This includes customized furniture for mega scale projects such as airports, hospitals, universities, government bodies, multinational companies, luxury residential complexes and much more. The Company is powered by a 600,000 sqft. purpose-built manufacturing facility in Lahore which houses over 300 of Europe’s most advanced machines, including fully-automated robotic technology. Interwood’s retail network of showrooms spans across all major cities in Pakistan catering to the brand’s vast client base.

    Mr. Malik continues to play a key role in Interwood’s management alongside his two sons and daughter: Omar Farooq (CEO), Ali Farooq (Director Sales & Marketing) and Madiha Jalal (Director of Design).

    Omar Farooq

    Chief Executive Officer

    Omar Farooq is an experienced Chief Executive Officer with a demonstrated history of working in the consumer goods industry. A strong business development professional with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) focused in Furniture Design and Manufacturing from Brunel University London.

    He joined his family business in the year 1995 as the Head of Production Unit and in the year 2013 he was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer by the board of the Company. Since taking over, being highly skilled in Negotiation Business Planning, Operations Management, Product Design and Strategic Planning, he has been expanding the business by revamping the entire product line and streamlining the supply chain of the company.

    Ali Farooq

    Director Marketing & Sales

    Mr. Ali Farooq is the Director of Sales & Marketing at Interwood and has been with the company since 1997. During his time at Interwood, Mr. Farooq has grown the company exponentially and is responsible for overseeing global exports, corporate projects, and developing strategic communication campaigns to drive sales. Starting off with a single humble showroom, he now oversees the entire network of 11 showrooms across the country.

    Mr. Farooq holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the reputed Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences & Technology and is also the founder and active board member of the Karachi Chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), which has 80,000 Members in over 35 countries.

    Madiha Jalal

    Director Design

    Ms. Madiha Jalal is the Director of Design at Interwood and oversees the Research & Development Department. She joined Interwood in April 2001 and is primarily responsible for introducing new trends and developing innovative product designs to drive customer demand.

    Interwood’s fast-paced technological advancements are transformed into a diverse product portfolio under her watch. She also oversees visual merchandising in the nationwide network of Interwood showrooms. In her time at the company, Interwood’s showrooms have been modernized with the incorporation of free-flowing spaces that give an imaginative touch to displays. Ms. Jalal’s work is integral at each step of the product development process, from the initial conception right down to its display on the showroom floor.
